Join us for our summer reading Laboratorio and strengthen your language skills while we enjoy an Italian book together! We will read La Vasca del Fuhrer by Serena Dandini, a 2020 biography of model, photographer and World War II correspondent Lee Miller. We will have conversations about the characters and themes in class and use the text to review grammar, including the use of moods and different verb tenses. You will have the opportunity to strengthen your comprehension and literacy by writing chapter summaries. This 5th edition of our Laboratorio is another dynamic learning experience that brings the Italian language to life in a meaningful way. All Italian students who have completed advanced Italian or the equivalent are welcome to enroll. Course Goal Participants will deepen their knowledge of grammar, improve fluency and comprehension, expand their Italian vocabulary, and learn more about the Italian culture. Course material: “La vasca del Fuhrer” by Serena Dandini (in Italian) Other material will be given by the instructor prior to each session, if needed.
